Concept: Sin Weapons

February 2010 Concept: Sin Weapons

Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Sloth , Vanity, and Wrath.
The concept of this one will be to design the seven deadly sins as weapons. We can choose to focus on doing many weapon designs of a single sin or do a few weapons for each sin. Its really up to you all, but I am betting this is one we will get carried away with once we get started.
When posting our designs lets try to keep it to fewer images. We can always adjust the canvas size or make the image bigger to make up for fewer weapon sheets. At least no more than a weapon sheet for each Sin at most. (7 Sheets)
Our target finish date is December 15th.

The futuristic tank concept was a nightmare for us all I see. We will move back towards figures, but first let us try some item designs before then. We all missed the Raising the Spirits deadline on Gnomon as well. But you can still post it here for your fellow artist approval!

Tank Model

I cheated and I feel bad about it. I really wanted to draw the tank originally and only planned on doing a perspective study in maya. Then one thing led to another and this happened, guys who commit date rape probably say the same thing. Either way since I got carried away with the perspective study I will finish it sooner or later as a model and update this post.

Concept: Raising the Spirits

January 2010 Concept: Raising the Spirits

Another concept from the Gnomon boards, this one being "Raising the Spirits". The spirit raising is implied to be of supernatural origins, but do not let that railway you in your concepts. Look forward to seeing all your work, and hopefully we will be more on time with this one than our tank concepts. Gnomon deadline is December 1st and can be posted at

Best of luck all!

Concept: Futuristic Tank

December 2009 Concept: Futuristic Tank

An armored weapon of the future be of human, alien or other origins. The tank can be the traditional treaded behemoth with a teeth filled with armaments. Perhaps a tank of the distant future that hovers quickly with energy weaponry destroying all in its path. Giving difference in genres and technology levels will give us each many options for a concept thats probably out of many of our comfort zones. Good luck, our target date is November 16th.

It seems we are all having trouble with the Boogeyman concept and hopefully we all make great progress soon. Remember its never too late to post any of the past concepts, so lets not give up if we do not make a deadline.

Soulless Portrait

Since I had no ideas for the Evil Children concept, I just took a creepy kid off the internet and practiced a digital painting for a sitting. Nothing special I did, just a straight forward painting. I think I really need to start doing more of these though, they will help me in the long run.

FireHound

I set him in temple scene, as if he is guarding, patrolling the walkways. It came out a little different than how I imagined it. I pictured his skin to be more or less glowing, and he would have a light fire aura of some sort but he just came out looking like he is on fire. I'm still happy in the way it came out.
This one is working in progress. I was planning on adding tall dry grass all around the field and have him in full color. The evil kid is holding a dead cat if you can't make it out.

Asher

Not really a sketch per say but here is my take on a "fire" elemental or an Asher as I am refering to him. Check out my blog to get the story and meet his friends. I invite you all to read his/their background, pick a country and draw one up. Think, WMD via elemental creature. Or not.

Concept: The Boogeyman

November 2009 Concept: The Boogey Man

Another concept from the Gnomon boards. From under the bed, out of the closet, and the old man down the street offering you candy. This one will probably be a challenge to us, and lets hope we get some good results. Feel free to post early to get feedback, and polish up your results for the Gnomon contest at

http://forums.thegnomonworkshop.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

Otherwise our target date is November 1st.

Ice Guardian

The Ice Guardian, a lesser ice elemental creature that is roughly human size. They form in shard like layers that are brittle and constant in the state of sharpening. They are fairly quick, come usually in small numbers, and have a tendency to shatter shards in the area when struck or killed.

Concept: Elemental Creature

October 2009 Concept: Elemental Creature

An elemental creature of any form of energy from the realms of fantasy. Choices include but are not limited to; Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and so on. Concept a creature of pure energy or a creature heavily tied to a form of energy in some way. The challenge here will be to keep an interesting creature with features that can still be tied to its element without making just a puddle of water or some lame ass campfire monster. Target date, October 15th.

For those of us who have not yet posted the previous concept, there is no harm in posting late. We should not try to fall to far behind though. Yes, I need to get to work too.

Concept: Evil Children

September 2009 Concept: Evil Children

Here we go. Every two weeks (roughly) we will be adding up a concept here for all to sketch, post, and comment on. We can title our posts whatever we wish, but be sure to keep the label the same as the Concept for organizational purposes. For example, label this piece(s) "Evil Children". The size is up to you, but keep them as .jpeg and low rez, you can always link to your own blog sites for high rez ones as well. I find anything around 600-800 (72 dpi) pixels in the largest dimension is more than good enough. If you do multiple pieces on a single concept, feel free to include them in the posts. Just keep them all in a single post.

Our target date, October 1st.

This concept comes directly from Gnomon boards. So if you wish to polish up your concepts, consider entering the image contest at http://forums.thegnomonworkshop.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1
